Dr Can Yesilyurt

Founder & CEO

Dr Can Yesilyurt is a scientist and engineer working at the intersection of quantum transport, condensed matter physics, and nanoelectronics device technology. He is the Founder and CEO of the Nanoelectronics Research Center in Istanbul, a laboratory founded in 2023 with a focus on producing high quality research materials, high purity single crystal bulk materials, 2D materials, and the fabrication of nano and micro sensors and circuits.
He received his Computer Engineering and Information Science degrees (double major) from Okan University in 2012. In the later years of his undergraduate studies, he worked on multipartite quantum entangled states and contributed to peer reviewed research before graduation.
He was awarded a scholarship by the National University of Singapore and completed his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, where his doctoral work focused on tunnelling transport in Dirac and Weyl semimetals and related topological transport phenomena.
Following his doctoral studies, he taught graduate and undergraduate courses in electrical and computer engineering at Istanbul Okan University in 2019. In parallel, he joined the Opto Nanoelectronics Laboratories at Istanbul University as a postdoctoral research fellow from 2019 to 2021, focusing on condensed matter applications built on experimental quantum transport.
At the Nanoelectronics Research Center, his work emphasizes end to end capability, from crystal growth and 2D material fabrication to nano and micro fabrication and characterization. The lab develops and uses advanced process and measurement infrastructure including laser lithography, very high vacuum deposition systems, and characterization methods such as electron microscopy, energy dispersive X ray spectroscopy, and scanning probe techniques.
